Hello,
I'm Sogo, founder of Colletter.

I'd like to share why I started Colletter and what it stands for.

Colletter combines Collection and Letter and means "a collector's record."

The motivation was simple: as a collector, I wanted to see and manage my items in one place. While collecting art, audio gear, eyewear, and more, I kept wondering whether modern products evolve to stimulate a collecting instinct.

We only have two eyes, yet many of us collect glasses; when we gain space, we instinctively fill it. Thinking about still life paintings and the desire to preserve abundance in a frame, the urge to record and gather feels less personal and more deeply human.

As I kept collecting, I discovered that management itself can be another form of joy: when you bought it, who gifted it, and how it looked at first.

Accumulation without context can become stress, but building a structured archive feels closer to caring. I started with Excel and later moved to shared spreadsheets with friends.

The issue was overexposure: items or data I did not want to share were visible together. Even in trusted relationships, sharing everything is uncomfortable.

That small personal friction became the start of Colletter.

Today, Colletter is designed for both casual hobbyists and heavy collectors. You can record detailed item attributes and selectively share with only the people you choose.

To reduce concerns like "Can operators see my item details?", sensitive fields such as serial numbers and phone numbers are protected with PIN-based end-to-end encryption.

In short, PIN-protected data is not readable by operators, and if you lose your PIN, recovery is not possible. Please keep your PIN safely.

"Every collection has a story to tell."

Every collectible has something to say.

This project started as a personal log and grew into a product thanks to inspiration from my own hobby and conversations with fellow collectors. The UI/UX may still evolve, and we will improve steadily with your feedback.

I hope Colletter becomes a calm and reliable place for your collections and stories.

Thank you.

Sogo
